Diversity Statement

Our laboratory is committed to building a safe and inclusive scientific community by recruiting, supporting, and retaining members from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups. We are deeply committed to opposing racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and sexism and thrive towards an equitable and inclusive scientific enterprise. We are cognizant of these issues and hope to address them within the organizational design of this team. Our international team is ethnically and culturally diverse. This intercultural and ethnic diversity brings fresh perspectives to our research, and we view this as instrumental to our ongoing success.

Lab Culture

We deeply value the input from all team members and have implemented policies that seek to gather (and encourage openness) opinions from all. This is achieved through regular meetings with a clear structure that actively calls upon participants for opinions on research design, progress and data interpretation, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. Without input from all team members, we risk misinterpretation of data or oversight of critical findings or novel opportunities. Maximizing diversity and inclusion maximizes creativity in experimental design and data interpretation.
